Who we are

Nourish is a personal wellness companion app designed for people using GLP-1 medications (such as Wegovy, Ozempic, and Mounjaro). The app is developed and operated by an independent developer based in the United Kingdom.

What data we collect

To provide the app's features, we collect and store the following:

• Your email address, and your name when you sign in with Google
• Body weight entries and unit preference
• Daily nutrition logs (protein, water, calorie estimates)
• Medication type, dose, and injection schedule
• Symptom diary entries (nausea, energy, food noise, mood)
• Exercise logs and routines
• Food preferences and aversions
• App preferences (theme, notifications, layout)

Progress photos are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers, and we cannot see them. This also means they cannot be recovered if you lose your device or clear the app's data.

Voice mode audio is not recorded or stored. When you use voice mode, your microphone audio is streamed in real time to Google's Gemini Live service for speech understanding and a spoken reply, then discarded — we never record it and cannot play it back. Only two things are saved: anything you explicitly ask to log (which is stored like any other log entry), and a count of the voice minutes you have used. The microphone is only active while the voice screen is open.

Scan photos are analysed, not kept. When you scan a meal, menu, nutrition label, barcode, your fridge, or a shopping receipt, the photo is sent to Google's Gemini service for analysis and is not stored by us — only the results you choose to save (a logged meal, a recipe, an ingredient list) are kept. Receipt scans are read for the food items you bought: we keep only those item names, in your own ingredient list. The receipt image itself is never stored, and payment details on it (such as a masked card number or the total) are never extracted or kept.

Device permissions (app version)

• Camera — used only while you take a scan photo or point the live viewfinder. Nothing is captured in the background.
• Microphone — used only while the voice screen is open, as described above.
• Notifications — used only for the reminders you switch on. Off by default.

Each permission is requested the first time its feature is used, and every feature remains usable without the permissions it doesn't need.

Health Connect (optional, app version)

If you switch on Health Connect in Settings, Nourish writes the weight, water, and protein you log into Android's Health Connect so your other health apps can see them, and reads your daily step count to show it in the Move tab. This works entirely through Android's Health Connect permissions — you choose exactly what to allow, can revoke access at any time in Health Connect's own settings, and Nourish never uses Health Connect data for advertising and never sells or shares it. If you leave the toggle off, Nourish doesn't read or write Health Connect at all.

How we use your data

Your data is used solely to provide and personalise Nourish's features:

• To display your progress, trends, and daily logs
• To generate personalised AI meal plans, exercise suggestions, and wellness insights
• To calculate your protein and hydration goals
• To send optional daily wellness reminders

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing.

Third-party services

• Google Firebase — authentication, data storage, and push notifications. Google's Privacy Policy applies.
• Google Gemini AI — AI-generated content. Your profile preferences (not personal identifiers) are sent to Gemini when you use AI features, scan photos are sent for analysis, and voice-mode audio is streamed to Gemini Live in real time for processing. Google's AI Privacy Policy applies.
• fal.ai — generates the illustrative images for saved recipes. Only the recipe description is sent — never your identity or health data. fal.ai's Privacy Policy applies.
• RevenueCat & Google Play Billing — if you purchase a subscription in the app, the purchase is processed by Google Play and validated by RevenueCat. They receive purchase and device information, never your health data. Their respective privacy policies apply. If you never purchase, no data is shared with RevenueCat.
• Firebase Crashlytics (app version) — anonymous crash reports (device model, OS version, technical stack trace) so we can find and fix bugs. Reports are not linked to your identity and never contain your health data.
• PostHog (privacy-friendly product analytics, EU-hosted) — records anonymous, cookieless usage events (for example, which features are opened and how far the setup flow gets) so we can understand what helps and fix drop-off. It never captures your health data, is not used for advertising, and is not sold or shared. No advertising identifier is collected, and no cross-site tracking takes place.

Data storage & security

Your data is stored securely in Google Cloud Firestore, protected by Firebase Security Rules that ensure only you can access your own data. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest.

Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. You may delete all your data at any time from the Profile tab. This permanently removes your account and all associated records.

Legacy anonymous trial accounts

Earlier versions of Nourish allowed use without signing in via a temporary anonymous account. New anonymous accounts can no longer be created. Existing anonymous accounts continue to work and are automatically deleted after 30 days of inactivity. No email address is associated with anonymous accounts.

Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, restrict its processing, and lodge a complaint with the ICO (UK) or your local supervisory authority.

Nourish is a wellness tracking tool, not a medical device. AI-generated content is for informational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice. Always consult your healthcare provider before making changes to your medication, diet, or exercise routine.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated within the app. Continued use of Nourish after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
